Director of Design (Construction)

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–5 technical designers.
• Manage workloads, priorities, project schedules, onboarding, training, and performance coaching.
• Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and design packages for accuracy, feasibility, constructability, and compliance with client specifications.
• Serve as the technical authority for evaluating whether complex design concepts can be built in the field.
• Collaborate with general contractors, preconstruction teams, project managers, and field operations.
• Lead design reviews to improve drawing standards, workflows, cost efficiency, and project outcomes.

Requirements

• Professional experience in technical design for commercial or specialty construction.
• Ability to evaluate architectural concepts, drawings, and design packages for constructability.
• Experience leading or mentoring technical design teams.
• Ability to collaborate with contractors, project managers, preconstruction, and field operations.
