Sr. Staff Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; hybrid schedule required for employees living within 30 miles of an office location. What you will do

• Architect, build, and optimize multi-region, highly available AWS infrastructure for mission-critical payment applications.
• Standardize environments and manage globally scalable infrastructure through Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Automate resiliency and eliminate manual toil with GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and self-healing systems.
• Build end-to-end observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry; lead incident management and blameless post-mortems.
• Design Golden Paths and platform capabilities that improve engineering velocity and collaborate with Product, Security, and Core Engineering.
• Architect high-performance, low-latency private connectivity for external customers and support platform adoption.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience owning outcomes in complex, large-scale distributed systems and mission-critical environments.
• Advanced AWS and Terraform experience building reproducible infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, and GitOps workflows including Flux, Argo, and GitHub Actions.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or Bash for infrastructure automation and operational tooling.
• Deep experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry at scale.
• Understanding of cloud security, API gateways, load balancing, and network isolation.

Nice to have

• Experience with tokenization, payment processing, cryptology, or security products.
• Experience managing Kafka-based distributed data streaming platforms, including MSK.
• Database performance tuning, query optimization, or familiarity with Java and Spring Framework services.
• BA or BS degree and experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
