Staff Software Engineer (Infrastructure, Cloud)

Location: Remote or based in the United States, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Poland, Sweden, or the United Kingdom.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines moving operational data from on-premises systems into AWS.
• Architect cloud infrastructure for scalable computation, data processing, and system telemetry.
• Integrate on-premises and cloud data flows into a reliable data architecture.
• Build CI/CD pipelines supporting software delivery and validation across simulation and real-world testing environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and CloudFormation, and develop internal ingestion, processing, and observability tools.
• Establish reliability and security practices, lead root-cause analysis, and collaborate with autonomy and systems engineers on data interfaces and cloud deployment strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience building cloud infrastructure and data systems for large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong Python skills focused on data pipeline development and automation.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, gRPC, Docker, and high-throughput data systems.
• Deep AWS expertise across compute, storage, and data processing, plus experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, Git-based workflows, code reviews, and collaborative software development.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating on-premises and cloud data flows in hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Background in data engineering for robotics, autonomous systems, or real-time operational data.
• Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack for monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Familiarity with networking, security, distributed-system performance optimization, and safety-critical or high-availability systems.
