Lead Fund Controller, Private Funds

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance 4 days per week and remote work 1 day per week

Salary: USD 90,000–180,000 per year, plus potential bonus, incentives, and benefits

What you will do

• Oversee end-to-end accounting, reporting, and fund operations for semi-liquid, open-ended private investment vehicles.
• Lead the monthly NAV process, reviewing administrator outputs and validating investment activity, valuations, fees, expenses, income allocations, investor flows, and capital balances.
• Review financial statements, regulatory reporting, and recurring fund filings.
• Coordinate with Investor Relations, Transfer Agency, Treasury, Product, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Governance, and Investment teams on fund and investor matters.
• Oversee third-party administrators and other service providers.
• Design and improve operating models, workflows, accounting policies, and controls for the evergreen fund platform.

Requirements

• BS degree or higher in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in private funds, fund administration, public accounting, or asset management.
• Strong knowledge of investment company accounting for public and private investments, open-ended funds, and multi-share-class structures.
• Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and general familiarity with Lux GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience overseeing third-party fund administrators.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong organizational, analytical, collaboration, risk management, and process improvement abilities.

Nice to have

• CPA license.
• Familiarity with data and reporting tools.
