Material Flow Engineer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Design, prototype, and implement material flow solutions for raw materials and work-in-progress across the plant.
• Develop dock-to-point-of-use handling processes covering dock doors, transport modes and paths, lineside locations, and return cycles.
• Optimize factory space, labor, throughput, and material presentation across high-volume and low-volume, high-mix production lines.
• Develop models for labor prediction, warehouse space requirements, and material-handling equipment, including forklift-free operations.
• Conduct line design reviews, create cycle-time plans, and optimize production-line layouts.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Packaging, and Supply Chain teams to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar engineering role within manufacturing or distribution.
• Knowledge of safety practices, quality control, preventative maintenance, and facility layouts.
• Experience with Lean principles.
• Proficiency in CAD, preferably AutoCAD, and in Oracle, SAP, or MES for material tracking and movement transactions.
• Proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, and Project, plus experience with line and process design and visual management tools.
