What you will do

  • Mentor plant and center-of-excellence industrial engineers and provide technical leadership across a matrix organization.
  • Develop, evaluate, implement, and improve material-flow standards, best practices, automation, and workstation layouts.
  • Design and analyze future-program material flow from dock to point of use, including replenishment routes and packaging methods.
  • Support indirect-labor motion-based time standards, labor roadmaps, and initiatives to reduce gaps to labor goals.
  • Maintain databases and documentation for plant layouts, kitting processes, material-handling labor tools, and lean manufacturing standards.
  • Provide data and technical support to automation teams and help establish future manufacturing footprints and core assembly processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • At least five years of industry experience; high-volume order fulfillment or distribution-center experience is desirable.
  • At least five years of experience designing material replenishment routes for automated and human-powered technologies, including full pallets, totes, soft products, and carts.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Interest and ability to learn AMR and AGC programming; experience with simulation software such as FlexSim is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, teamwork, and technical-documentation skills, with the ability to lead without direct positional authority.
