TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer (Electrical Engineering): Designing and surveying electrical building infrastructure across public, environmental, commercial, and education projects with an accent on RIBA Stage 0–4 design, technical due diligence, and construction-stage advice. Focus on producing tender packages and technical drawings, assessing asset condition and remaining life, and monitoring electrical works for conformity and quality.
Location: Cardiff, with hybrid working. Travel is required depending on project locations, with most work across Southwest and South Wales.

What you will do
- Undertake feasibility studies, electrical condition surveys, pre-acquisition, dilapidation, and PPM surveys.
- Design electrical services independently from RIBA Stage 0 to Stage 4.
- Produce technical drawings and complete electrical tender packages.
- Monitor electrical works on site and report on conformity, quality, and compliance.
- Act as a technical advisor, support contractor design development, and provide technical advice to clients during construction.
- Help develop the regional M&E service and contribute to commercial and procurement strategies.
Requirements
- BSc degree in Electrical Engineering and a recognised M&E qualification.
- Chartered status or willingness to obtain MCIBSE or an equivalent qualification.
- Track record in a similar electrical engineering or site engineering role.
- Independent electrical design experience across RIBA Stages 0–4, including asset surveying, age and remaining-life estimation, and technical due diligence.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and relevant digital tools such as tablets.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for projects are required.
