Ultra-Pure Water Technician (Nights) (Biotechnology)

Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States; onsite role. Working shift: Wednesday–Saturday, 2:00pm–12:30am. Training shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm for up to six months.

Salary: $24.76–$44.42 per hour.

What you will do

• Support manufacturing through the start-up, operation, monitoring, maintenance, and shutdown of clean utility systems.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on water rooms, pumps, motors, WFI stills, clean steam generators, piping, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot systems, complete hands-on repairs, and perform WFI point-of-use flushing.
• Monitor and control clean utility systems using BAS and PLC controls.
• Maintain records for validated equipment and systems.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned repairs with departments, Facilities Management, and contractors.

Requirements

• AAS degree, preferably in engineering or construction technologies, with 2+ years of related experience for Technician II or 5+ years for Technician III.
• Alternatively, HSD/GED with 5+ years of related experience for Technician II or 8+ years for Technician III.
• Ability to read and understand piping, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
• Basic troubleshooting and mechanical skills related to water rooms and clean utility systems.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical compressed air, domestic water lines, plant steam, and high- and low-pressure condensate return systems.
• Ability to participate in a rotational on-call schedule and meet physical requirements during shifts of up to 10 hours in a cleanroom environment.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining and operating a large-scale utilities plant.
