TL;DR
(Sr.) Engineer Technician (Biotech Manufacturing): Maintaining and calibrating GMP and non-GMP manufacturing and laboratory equipment, clean utilities, water systems, and refrigeration equipment with an accent on preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, calibration, and cGMP compliance. Focus on troubleshooting complex process and laboratory systems, supporting commissioning and turnover, documenting validated equipment, and responding to site maintenance needs.

Location: Pennington, New Jersey, United States; onsite role with the ability to work holidays, varying shifts, and respond to site emergencies as required.

Pay range: $85,000–$105,000 annually, based on skills and experience.

What you will do

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and calibration on GMP and non-GMP manufacturing and laboratory equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, test, repair, and optimize instruments, equipment, and control systems in collaboration with other departments.
  • Maintain clean utilities and water systems, including pumps, motors, deionized water systems, WFI stills, clean steam generators, piping, and WFI points of use.
  • Maintain site refrigerators and freezers and support repairs of related utility equipment.
  • Support commissioning, start-up, system turnover, continuous improvement, and vendor maintenance activities.
  • Maintain validated equipment records, calibration documentation, training records, and maintenance schedules while coordinating planned and unplanned work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with at least five years of facilities maintenance or operations experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of preventive maintenance and calibration in a cGMP biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, GXP, GAMP, SDLC, pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, and laboratory equipment.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces and at heights, and stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced matrixed environment, including varying shifts and emergency response.
