Production Maintenance Technician 2 (2nd Shift)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite, full-time. Work schedule is 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with an open schedule or rotation between shifts and weekends.

Salary: $25.28–$37.88 per hour, plus eligibility for variable cash programs, equity for eligible roles, and benefits.

What you will do

• Maintain manufacturing equipment and complete high-complexity maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
• Perform calibrations, preventive maintenance, supplier support, and project activities while coordinating multiple parallel tasks.
• Troubleshoot optical, mechanical, electrical, and fluidic systems using engineering tools and technical documentation.
• Escalate advanced issues to engineers, propose solutions, and support problem resolution.
• Monitor equipment performance, manage technical inventory, and track work through a digital ticketing system.
• Improve equipment reliability, uptime, and cost efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• At least four years of related experience; a high school diploma or equivalent is required, and an associate degree is preferred.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical schematics and optical, mechanical, electrical, or fluidic systems.
• Advanced data collection, hands-on troubleshooting, mathematical, analytical, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and Windows and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written documentation skills in English are required.
• Ability to work the stated shift rotation and weekends, perform physical activities, wear safety gear, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Automated liquid handler repair and troubleshooting experience.
• Chemical analytical equipment repair and troubleshooting experience.
• High-volume manufacturing experience and knowledge of GMP.
• Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
