Field Service Engineer - South England (Gas Engines)

Location: South England, covering Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and Surrey, with possible travel across the UK; extensive travel, unsociable hours and overnight stays may be required.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled maintenance on gas engines and associated plant equipment to maximize reliability and reduce unnecessary part replacement.
• Respond to out-of-hours callouts, troubleshoot faults and restore equipment operation.
• Collect and dispatch oil samples, select and order parts, and maintain accurate van stock records.
• Build effective relationships with customers, subcontractors and the Area Service Manager while coordinating site activities.
• Complete detailed service reports and maintain company tools, equipment and site presentation standards.
• Supervise, train and mentor apprentices and new team members while following health, safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of service engineering experience.
• NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Apprentice-trained engineer with Gas Safe registration.
• Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge, IT skills and the ability to document service work.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, work unsociable hours and stay away from home when required.
• Reliable, organized, adaptable, customer-focused and able to coach and mentor others.
