University Studies Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)

hirify.global’s University Studies program supports exploring students, students transitioning between majors, and first-year undergraduate success through advising and seminar instruction.

What you will do

• Teach one or more sections of the interdisciplinary US101US First-Year Seminar.
• Evaluate written work, oral presentations, and class participation, and provide timely feedback.
• Submit grades by university deadlines and follow the shared course curriculum.
• Advise and support students from diverse backgrounds and interests.
• Participate in mandatory pre-semester training, weekly faculty meetings, and program assessment.
• Collaborate with faculty, program directors, and assigned peer mentors to improve teaching effectiveness.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant or related field.
• Experience working with and engaging a wide range of students and colleagues.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to actively engage students, facilitate respectful discussions, and work independently.
• Ability to use required technology, including the Canvas learning management system and the university’s grade submission system.

Nice to have

• Academic or professional experience with first-year courses.
• Experience teaching interdisciplinary courses.
• Knowledge of college student development.

Culture & Benefits

• Part-time appointments are offered for one semester at a time, based on program needs and available funding.
• Fall teaching opportunities are more common; spring opportunities are limited to none.
• FTE ranges from 0.20 to 0.60, with benefits eligibility depending on FTE.
• Appointments of 0.50 FTE or more may be represented by the Associated Faculty of hirify.global.
• This position is not eligible for new sponsorship.

Hiring process

• Applications are accepted and screened continually for the applicant pool.
• Applicants may remain in the hiring pool for up to two years.
• Applications for fall appointments are reviewed beginning in late March or early April, with screening and interviews continuing as needed.
