Non-Tenure Track Adjunct Instructor (Languages and Communication) - Pool

Location: Prairie View, Texas, United States; work may be in person, remote, or hybrid as applicable.

What you will do

• Teach up to 7 undergraduate or graduate semester credit hours per semester, based on student and curricular demand.
• Plan and deliver effective learning experiences using appropriate teaching methods.
• Maintain student records, submit attendance reports, and post assignment, midterm, and final grades on time.
• Mentor and assist students, including maintaining at least three office hours per week.
• Attend orientations and clinical, simulation, or studio meetings when required by the hiring department.

Requirements

• For undergraduate teaching: a doctorate or master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the discipline.
• For graduate and post-baccalaureate teaching: an earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of the subject area, teaching methods, and youth and adult learning processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use virtual teaching technology when required.
• All positions are security-sensitive and require a criminal history investigation and credential verification.

Nice to have

• Prior collegiate-level teaching experience.
• Knowledge of online learning management systems.
