Career Education Coach (Career Development)

Salary: $24.55 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Provide one-on-one and group coaching on career exploration, internships, jobs, and professional skills.
• Support resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, job search strategies, and personal branding.
• Deliver workshops, presentations, and classroom engagement activities.
• Explain career information, industry insights, employer expectations, and workplace success practices.
• Assess student needs, recommend resources and referrals, and manage an independent caseload.
• Maintain confidential coaching records, track participation and outcomes, and collaborate with campus partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience delivering programs, workshops, presentations, or training.
• Experience in a service-oriented environment.
• Experience supporting people through advising, coaching, or mentoring conversations.
• Ability to use digital tools to support learning or service delivery.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, collaboration, adaptability, and a student-centered approach.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in workforce development, HR, recruiting, management, training, or higher education.
• Experience working with college students or emerging professionals.
• Industry expertise in nursing, business, engineering, technology, agriculture, healthcare, or other high-demand sectors.
• Knowledge of labor market trends and employer hiring practices.

Culture & Benefits

• Part-time appointment at 0.45 FTE.
• Classified hourly, non-exempt position.
• Not eligible for benefits.
• No supervisory duties.
• This position is not eligible for new sponsorship.
