Senior Risk Control Consultant (Insurance)

Location: Glendale, California, United States. The role requires a consistent field presence, with approximately 20%–50% of the time onsite with customers, including possible long-distance and overnight travel.

Annual base salary: $104,000–$171,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Evaluate hazards, controls, and management practices for large, complex, all-lines commercial accounts.
• Complete risk assessments for manufacturing, warehouse, products liability, multi-location, fleet, and other significant exposures.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Prepare technically detailed reports with clear risk assessments and recommendations.
• Identify uncontrolled exposures and influence customers to implement corrective actions and loss-mitigation measures.
• Provide subject-matter expertise, customer consultations, and higher-level projects affecting the Risk Control organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences, or a related technical field.
• At least seven years of experience in safety, risk control or management, occupational or environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military work.
• Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry and strong business acumen.
• Superior written and verbal communication, critical thinking, influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must have or be able to attain appropriate certifications for applicable state-specific requirements.

Nice to have

• Recognized certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, or CFPS.
• Specialty expertise in fleet, sprinkler contracting, inland marine, industrial hygiene, human factors, or ergonomics.
