APAC Regional Health, Safety and Transportation Specialist (Petrochemical): Implementing regional health, safety, incident investigation, and chemical transportation programs across APAC with an accent on regulatory compliance, audits, root cause analysis, and emergency response. Focus on leading complex investigations, developing corrective actions, training internal teams and logistics partners, and supporting transportation safety during regional emergencies.

Location: hirify.global Campus, Shanghai, China. The role requires an unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in APAC regional countries and includes periodic travel to regional sites.

What you will do

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of regional health, safety, incident management, and transportation safety programs.
  • Coordinate incident notifications and responses, lead complex investigations, analyze root causes, and prepare reports and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, supply chain, and EHS teams on chemical transportation safety, audits, corrective actions, and KPI tracking.
  • Coach and mentor investigators and develop training standards and workshops for the Zero Harm program.
  • Provide guidance on chemical shipping regulations, emergency response, spill containment, and applicable APAC and local requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and government bodies while supporting EHS, OHS, ESG, and compliance programs.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in petrochemical or industrial sectors leading investigations.
  • Experience as a lead investigator in complex investigations and with RCA methodologies such as Apollo RCA or TapRooT.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, transportation fundamentals, EHS audits, risk assessment, and applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 55001, and ISO 31000 standards.
  • Fluent English and an unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in APAC regional countries.

  • Advanced degree or certifications such as CSP or CIH.
