Plant SHE Manager (Specialty Chemicals)

Location: Shanghai, China; onsite plant role

What you will do

• Lead training and programs required to maintain facility safety, health, and environmental compliance.
• Monitor national and local SH&E regulations and implement programs addressing their operational impact.
• Set site SH&E goals, develop improvement plans, and track progress using established metrics.
• Manage the identification, investigation, recording, and reporting of SH&E events and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Communicate SH&E issues and performance to management and lead professional, technical, and support employees.
• Support the Responsible Care Management System in line with RC14001 requirements where applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in safety, engineering, environmental protection, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience, including 3 or more years of plant-level SH&E management experience.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and safety sciences, practices, and national and local regulations.
• Leadership, planning, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
• Conversational and written fluency in English.

Nice to have

• National Registered Safety Engineer qualification.
• Safety production management certification for hazardous chemical enterprises issued by the emergency management authority.
• Additional certifications in areas such as fire protection or special equipment.
