TL;DR
HEDIS Data Analyst | Architect - Healthcare Payer (HEDIS, CMS quality programs, healthcare claims data): Analyzing, validating, and transforming payer data to support HEDIS reporting, CMS STAR Ratings, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance with an accent on data architecture, source-to-target mapping, and scalable reporting solutions. Focus on performing root cause analysis, reconciling claims and eligibility data, supporting UAT and audits, and translating complex findings into business recommendations.

Location: Remote within the United States; applicants must be U.S. Citizens. The role is associated with Chicago, Illinois, and is available as a W2 hourly contract only.

Salary: $60–70 per hour, based on relevant experience.

What you will do

  • Support HEDIS measurement, reporting, validation, annual submissions, audits, and documentation reviews.
  • Analyze claims, encounters, eligibility, provider, pharmacy, and supplemental clinical data for HEDIS and CMS reporting.
  • Translate business requirements into source-to-target mappings, business rules, process flows, functional specifications, and reporting solutions.
  • Contribute to solution architecture, data flow design, integration approaches, reporting architecture, data governance, and scalable data models.
  • Perform data quality reviews, reconciliations, root cause analysis, UAT support, defect resolution, and deployment validation.
  • Collaborate with quality, population health, provider engagement, care management, technical, and client stakeholder teams to improve payer reporting and modernization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, information systems, business, data analytics, public health, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 4–6+ years of healthcare payer, health plan, or managed care experience, including Health Plan, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or Commercial payer environments.
  • Hands-on HEDIS knowledge and experience with CMS regulations, CMS STAR Ratings, quality programs, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with healthcare data architecture concepts, source-to-target mapping, data lineage, integration design, reporting architecture, and scalable data models.
  • Advanced SQL skills for healthcare data analysis and validation, plus experience with data quality reviews, reconciliations, and root cause analysis.
  • U.S. citizenship is required. H-1B, C2C, and 1099 candidates cannot be considered.
