Senior Network Security Engineer (Zscaler)

Location: United States. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; employer-sponsored work authorization is not available.

Estimated base salary: $95,100–$146,300 annually.

What you will do

• Design, implement, optimize, and support enterprise network security solutions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Architect Zero Trust solutions using Zscaler, next-generation firewalls, VPNs, secure web gateways, cloud security services, and network segmentation.
• Administer and optimize Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX, including security policies, SSL inspection, traffic forwarding, PAC files, IPSec/GRE tunnels, and App Connector deployments.
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex network security incidents and production issues involving networking, DNS, routing, authentication, proxy, SSL/TLS, and application connectivity.
• Lead root cause analysis, incident response, monitoring, remediation, and improvements to service reliability and operational maturity.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while collaborating with Network, Security, Identity, Infrastructure, and Application teams.

Requirements

• At least seven years of experience in network security, cybersecurity, or infrastructure engineering.
• At least three years of hands-on experience with Zscaler technologies, including ZIA, ZPA, and/or ZDX.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network security technologies and administering firewall platforms such as Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, or Check Point.
• Strong understanding of network security architecture, Zero Trust, secure web gateways, VPNs, DNS, routing and switching, SSL/TLS, identity, and authentication.
• Experience with cloud security, hybrid network architectures, complex production troubleshooting, and enterprise identity providers such as Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, or CyberArk.
• Current United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship, including OPT, TN, H1B, or other work visas, is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Zscaler certifications such as ZCP, ZDTA, ZDTE, or ZDXA.
• CISSP, CISM, Security+, Network+, GIAC, CCNP Security, PCNSE, or equivalent certifications.
• Scripting and automation experience with Python, PowerShell, or Shell.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, SOX, HIPAA, or NIST.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
