Senior Manager, Network Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Richmond, VA or Lynchburg, VA; hybrid work is required with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Core working hours target 9am–5pm EST.

Salary: $120,900–$187,000 nationally; $114,900–$178,000 in Lynchburg. Additional bonus incentive may apply.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop Network Security Engineers, Analysts, and Technical Leads.
• Set team goals, performance metrics, development plans, succession strategies, and operational standards.
• Manage staffing, budgets, vendors, strategic planning, and service management processes.
• Define and execute the enterprise network security roadmap with architecture and cybersecurity stakeholders.
• Oversee firewalls, secure web gateways, NAC, VPN, ZTNA, SDP, microsegmentation, cloud security controls, DNS/DDI security, IPS, and DDoS protection.
• Drive firewall policy governance, platform availability and performance, automation, infrastructure-as-code, compliance, and cyber risk reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in network engineering, network security, or network architecture, including 3+ years of management experience.
• Working knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto networking technologies.
• Strong expertise in several areas including Palo Alto Networks, Akamai Guardicore, Infoblox, SD-WAN, SASE, cloud networking and security, NAC, security analytics, or ZTNA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and cross-team collaboration skills.
• This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Vendor and contract management experience, especially with managed service providers.
• Experience supporting distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001.
• Experience developing KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, or PCNSE.
