Engineer - Network Security (Fortinet)

Location: In office in Orange, Connecticut, United States

Base salary: $96,400–$120,500 per year, dependent on experience and location.

What you will do

• Design and implement secure enterprise network solutions based on business requirements and corporate standards.
• Support network security engineering, installation, administration, maintenance, lifecycle upgrades, and SLA performance.
• Configure and optimize SD-WAN solutions, enterprise firewalls, secure web gateways, and web application firewalls.
• Manage firewall policies, high-availability configurations, firmware upgrades, SIEM integrations, authentication integrations, and WAF rule tuning.
• Assess infrastructure security risks, participate in cyber investigations and forensic research, and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate outsourced vendors and collaborate with global and cross-functional teams to execute network security designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of hands-on network engineering experience, including operational support and troubleshooting of enterprise firewalls, secure web gateways, and web application firewalls.
• Experience with enterprise network security infrastructure, incident investigation, risk assessment, and root-cause analysis.
• Availability to work in the Orange, Connecticut office is required.
• Employees may be assigned system emergency or NERC Reliability Standards compliance responsibilities, including additional training, access protections, audits, and evidence retention.

Nice to have

• Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Zscaler Certified Professional, or Akamai Security certifications.
• Experience deploying and maintaining SD-WAN solutions.
• Experience with Zscaler secure web gateways, Akamai WAF, and Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, or Check Point firewalls.
