Security Engineer (Zero Trust)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; onsite 4 days per week

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Modernize Identity and Access Management and identity governance capabilities, including authentication, authorization, and least-privilege access models.
• Design and maintain enterprise security platforms across endpoints, cloud environments, and enterprise networks.
• Enhance email security against phishing, malware, and business email compromise.
• Implement security controls across hybrid infrastructure in collaboration with infrastructure and cloud engineering teams.
• Develop automation and platform integrations using PowerShell, Python, and platform APIs.
• Provide engineering guidance based on secure-by-design and defense-in-depth principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud security.
• Experience with Zero Trust architectures, preferably Zscaler ZIA and ZPA.
• Experience designing or implementing IAM and identity governance solutions.
• Experience with enterprise email security and Microsoft security platforms, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Purview.
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; U.S. citizens or permanent residents are generally required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NIST, CIS, or ISO security frameworks.
