Sr. Network Security Engineer (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, operate, and automate network security controls across enterprise, cloud, and retail edge environments.
• Implement zero-trust network access, microsegmentation, perimeter security, next-generation firewalls, and cloud-native network security controls.
• Build infrastructure-as-code automation for security policy management, firewall rule lifecycles, and compliance validation.
• Partner with cloud, platform, application, engineering, and architecture teams to integrate network-layer security.
• Monitor and respond to network security events, perform root-cause analysis, and drive remediation.
• Produce threat models, architecture documentation, runbooks, and executive summaries; mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent education and experience.
• 7+ years of enterprise security engineering experience with strong depth in network security.
• Hands-on cloud security architecture experience across at least two major cloud platforms, including cloud NGFWs, VPC security controls, and private connectivity.
• Production-grade automation and infrastructure-as-code experience with Python, Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
• Deep knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, Zscaler ZTNA/SWG, IDS/IPS, DDoS mitigation, security policy-as-code, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• Strong knowledge of 802.1X, EAP-TLS, RADIUS, ClearPass/ISE, SAML, OAuth, PKI, certificates, TCP/IP, BGP, SD-WAN, VLANs, DNS, and routing protocols.

Nice to have

• Experience with Versa SD-WAN security policy, Juniper Mist access policy, or Fastly edge security controls.
• Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, and security data pipelines such as New Relic or Splunk.
• Certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP Security, AWS/Azure Security Specialty, or CISSP.
• Retail or high-velocity e-commerce security experience.
