Sr. Software Application Engineer (AWS/Java)

Location: California, USA — Remote. In-person onboarding and/or identity verification may be required.

Salary: $105,000–$187,550 annual base salary for U.S.-based roles; offers may exceed this range and may include bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Maintain and support enterprise applications built with Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications using AWS services.
• Design highly available and fault-tolerant solutions across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Manage containerized applications, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring, and application security.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve system reliability and release readiness.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams while contributing to code reviews and engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience, plus 2+ years of Salesforce platform experience.
• 2+ years of experience working with SAP services in an enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, integrations, data flows, logs, metrics, and transactional data.
• Experience with ITIL-aligned or incident and problem management environments, as well as Java application troubleshooting and automated testing.
• Ability to manage production priorities, communicate technical issues to business stakeholders, and support critical activities outside normal business hours when required.

Nice to have

• Experience writing, reviewing, or debugging code.
• Familiarity with version control, automated deployments, monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
