Member of Technical Staff - Backend (AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for the AI workspace platform.
• Build and optimize data pipelines for large-scale financial datasets.
• Productionize machine learning models and integrate them into backend systems.
• Optimize database schemas and queries for high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
• Implement security controls and support compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, and FCA requirements.
• Lead technical design reviews, mentor engineers, monitor production systems, and improve reliability.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional backend engineering experience building and scaling production systems.
• Expert proficiency in Python and modern web frameworks, especially FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, database scaling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Redis, Celery or equivalent task queues, message brokers, event-driven architectures, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP and Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of security, authentication, authorization, encryption, CI/CD, automated testing, Git, and distributed-system debugging; a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
