What you will do

• Lead and coordinate civil engineering designs and reports for greenfield and brownfield substations.
• Support proposal development and serve as the technical lead for projects.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and mentor less experienced engineers and designers.
• Estimate labor, material, and construction costs.
• Conduct field inspections and investigations and provide construction support.
• Prepare bid documents and review contracts, specifications, and bids.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of civil engineering design experience in the electric utility industry and a P.E. license.
• Experience with substation civil design, including grading, drainage, surveying, geotechnical investigations, access roads, easements, foundations, steel structures, and oil containment.
• Knowledge of SPCC, PPC, and SWMP documentation, permitting procedures, property lines, and applicable design codes and standards.
• Proficiency in GIS and structural analysis tools such as RISA Foundation, MATHCAD, LPile, Hilti PROFIS, and RISA 3D.
• Ability to supervise and train new team members.

Nice to have

• Experience with STAAD Pro, SAG10, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or Primavera P6.
