What you will do
- Assess damage to T-38 aircraft structural and composite components and develop repair or replacement procedures using applicable technical data.
- Fabricate, form, cut, bend, drill, ream, and fasten aircraft structural parts using depot-level tools, jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds.
- Design structural repairs, modifications, and corrosion-protection treatments while preserving aircraft strength, weight, contour, and structural integrity.
- Perform flight-control weight-and-balance functions, control-surface rigging, component inspections, and post-repair serviceability checks.
- Maintain accurate records in automated maintenance systems, including discrepancies, equipment data, maintenance actions, and quality documentation.
- Follow tool-control, safety, FOD prevention, equipment maintenance, and hazardous-material handling procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 12 years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience, including 10 years working directly on T-38 aircraft and at least 5 years of depot-level structural maintenance experience.
- Experience with fixed- or rotary-wing commercial, government, or DoD aircraft and DoD contracts.
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft structures, metal components, tubing, cable, plastic, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb, and composite repairs.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation, enter maintenance data accurately, write reports, and communicate technical issues.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
Nice to have
- Air Force Specialty Code 2A773 experience.
- Rigging certification or engine-run certification.
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certification.
