What you will do
- Inspect aircraft structural components, assess damage, and develop repair or replacement procedures using applicable technical data.
- Repair, replace, form, cut, bend, and fasten metal, composite, bonded honeycomb, fiberglass, tubing, cable, and plastic components.
- Perform close-tolerance drilling and reaming and install high-strength fasteners in major aircraft structures.
- Design and execute structural repairs, modifications, corrosion protection, flight-control weight and balance, and control-surface rigging.
- Fabricate parts using jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds, and inspect completed repairs for serviceability.
- Maintain accurate automated maintenance records, equipment records, quality documentation, tool control, safety compliance, and hazardous-material procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 12+ years of relevant aircraft structural maintenance experience on fixed- or rotary-wing commercial, Government, or DoD aircraft.
- 5+ years of depot-level structural maintenance experience.
- Advanced knowledge of depot-level structural repair, aircraft construction, aerospace materials, corrosion control, and related tools and equipment.
- Experience supporting DoD contracts and the ability to read engineering drawings, technical documentation, and maintenance procedures.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
Nice to have
- Air Force Specialty Code 2A773 experience.
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certification.
- Multiple aviation qualifications or certifications and the ability to train others in these disciplines.
