AI/ML Engineer (Public Health)

Location: Hybrid role with onsite work required in Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Salary: USD $110,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy AI capabilities for public health platform modernization.
• Integrate AI agents, large language models, and retrieval-augmented generation for structured and unstructured data interaction.
• Architect data models, memory and state management, and scalable RAG pipelines.
• Develop AI evaluation strategies to measure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Optimize retrieval workflows and establish data quality, curation, and documentation standards.
• Apply privacy, anonymization, and ethical practices to public health data management.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying machine learning models.
• 8+ years of experience with generative AI, LLMs, or RAG applications.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Python for machine learning and data engineering.
• Experience with Azure, SQL, and MLOps tools such as MLflow.
• Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or computer science.
• Ability to work onsite in Atlanta and obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination; background and drug screening required.
