TL;DR
Construction Supervisor - MEP (Mechanical and Electrical Construction): Supervising quality assurance for mechanical and electrical construction on new facilities and major renovations across the Texas A&M University System with an accent on contract compliance, system inspections, testing, and troubleshooting. Focus on coordinating project start-up, reviewing technical documents and construction standards, arranging utility outages and high-voltage testing, and preparing corrective-action field reports.

Location: College Station, Texas; restricted to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents

Salary: $5,667.367–$10,666.66 per month, commensurate with experience

What you will do

  • Provide quality assurance for mechanical and electrical construction on capital projects, including new facilities and major renovations.
  • Support project managers with contract-document interpretation and verification that work meets contractual requirements.
  • Inspect mechanical and electrical installations, coordinate system start-up, and troubleshoot new and existing systems.
  • Review drawings, specifications, construction standards, code requirements, costs, and proposed additional work.
  • Prepare field reports documenting observed conditions, instructions, and required corrective actions.
  • Coordinate utility outages, high-voltage testing, other system testing, staff training, and payment approvals for testing services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a similar program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least seven years of experience in mechanical or electrical construction.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and practices, with the ability to interpret contract documents.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with project architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel, multitask, and work cooperatively with others.
  • U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency is required.

Nice to have

  • Master Electrician license or equivalent mechanical licensing.
