Principal Software Engineer (TypeScript)

Location: United States, Remote. May require onsite interviews. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $175,800–$219,750 base salary per year, with potential bonus and/or equity programs depending on level and role.

What you will do

• Define the architecture and evolution of high-throughput Platform Core Services supporting Identity, Inventory, and Leads.
• Design backend systems for sub-second latency, massive concurrency, complex data consistency, and event-driven workflows using Kafka/MSK.
• Bridge backend platform systems with modern self-service user interfaces and frontend platform architecture.
• Lead RFCs and use benchmarks, data, and trade-off analysis to align engineering and product stakeholders.
• Integrate LLM-based orchestration into the software development lifecycle and improve engineering velocity.
• Own observability, developer experience, and four-nines reliability for services handling tens of thousands of requests per second.

Requirements

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience at Staff or Principal level.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
• Deep expertise designing high-concurrency distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Expertise in TypeScript and Node.js, with a language-agnostic approach to technology selection.
• Experience architecting frontend platforms, state management, complex RBAC, and efficient data-fetching patterns.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Nice to have

• Experience in a large-scale, Big Tech, high-growth, or FAANG-like environment.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies such as NewSQL, edge computing, or agentic AI and running production-safe proofs of concept.
