What you will do
- Inspect aircraft structural and composite components, assess damage, and determine repair or replacement procedures using applicable technical data.
- Fabricate, form, cut, bend, drill, ream, fasten, and install structural repair and replacement parts using advanced metalworking tools, jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds.
- Perform structural repairs, corrosion treatment, flight-control weight and balance activities, and control-surface rigging according to technical orders.
- Inspect completed repairs for serviceability and document maintenance actions, discrepancies, equipment records, and quality-assurance information in automated systems.
- Operate and maintain aircraft support equipment, maintain tool control, conduct FOD walks, and handle hazardous materials in accordance with environmental and safety requirements.
- Communicate maintenance issues to management and work independently as an individual contributor under senior leadership.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant depot-level aircraft structural maintenance experience on fixed- or rotary-wing commercial, government, or DoD aircraft.
- Experience with major structural components, metal, tubing, cable, plastic, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb, and composite repairs.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, technical documentation, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
- Ability to use respirators or other breathing equipment and safely handle hazardous materials.
Nice to have
- Air Force Specialty Code 2A753 or 2A773.
- Multiple aviation qualifications, certifications, or disciplines.
- Experience supporting DoD contracts.
- FAA Airplane and/or Powerplant certification.
- Knowledge of advanced software applications.
