Field Operator (Oil and Gas)

Location: Field-based in Levelland, Texas; at least 90% of working time must be spent at the assigned field location. May require work across multiple fields and 24-hour alarm response/on-call availability.

What you will do

• Monitor and operate wells, pumps, natural gas compressors, pumping units, valves, tanks, vessels, and related surface equipment.
• Gauge tanks and gas meters, record pressure and flow readings, and complete daily, monthly, and production reports.
• Inspect pipelines, valves, flanges, tanks, and other equipment for leaks, wear, safety issues, and malfunctions.
• Collect and test oil and other product samples for quality and integrity, recording temperatures and test results.
• Perform basic maintenance, including tightening connections, lubricating valves, securing tank seals, and reporting defective equipment.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, shut down equipment when instructed, and implement spill-prevention procedures as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum four years of oilfield experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic mathematical, mechanical, and computer skills.
• Ability to operate facilities independently while maintaining safe, environmentally sound conditions and accurate records.
• Ability to recognize non-standard facility conditions, report issues, recommend solutions, and direct or train less experienced employees.
• Valid driver's license and availability for 24-hour on-call coverage, emergencies, and weekend rotations.
