Operations Specialist (Laredo, TX) (Gas Pipelines)

What you will do

• Operate and maintain gas pipelines, compressor stations, process equipment, engines, turbines, pumps, valves, instruments, and auxiliary systems.
• Install, repair, service, and maintain pipeline equipment, corrosion-control systems, measurement equipment, storage wells, and facility infrastructure.
• Start, stop, and operate engines and pumps within defined parameters while supporting efficient and reliable equipment performance.
• Inspect third-party construction and maintenance work, train or oversee company and contractor personnel, and coordinate with customers, landowners, officials, suppliers, engineering, and management.
• Perform DOT, state agency, EPA, and other governmental compliance activities; document work and participate in safety and environmental programs.
• Respond to callouts and emergencies, perform minor electrical maintenance, and work outdoors in confined spaces, elevated areas, excavations, and low-light conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–1 year of experience; job level is commensurate with experience and skills.
• Basic computer and math skills, including familiarity with MS Office, operating systems, company software, and equipment operating costs.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
• Ability to respond to after-hours callouts and emergencies, work overtime and travel as required by location and workload.
• Ability to withstand extreme weather, enter confined spaces, climb and work at elevations, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Nice to have

• Experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high- and low-pressure systems.
• Experience analyzing, adjusting, and making minor repairs to compressor engines, pumps, and related equipment.
• Pipeline or compression experience.
