Assistant Closing Manager Full Time (Retail)

Location: Oneonta, NY, United States; onsite retail club operations

Salary: $21.00–$26.25 per hour

What you will do

• Lead closing operations as Manager on Duty when assigned, taking responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement.
• Oversee Recovery, Utility, Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer, and overnight preparation to ensure the club is clean, stocked, and ready for opening.
• Maintain GOLD service and operational standards through close, including functioning registers, attended service areas, product freshness, and member issue resolution.
• Monitor inventory, product rotation, waste, merchandising, sanitation checklists, cold-chain documentation, and audit readiness.
• Coach Recovery and Utility Clerks and support onboarding, ServSafe, PPE, certification, and department-specific training.
• Use operational reports and tools to improve productivity, address underperforming departments, and maintain equipment functionality.

Requirements

• Two years of retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable-operations experience preferred.
• Experience managing inventory turnover and waste reduction strategies.
• Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification is required and must remain current.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Basic proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and email.
• Open shift availability, regular full attendance, and the ability to work onsite in Oneonta, New York are required.
