RN Lactation Consultant - Lactation - Per Diem (Maternity)

What you will do

• Provide comprehensive lactation services for professional providers, antepartum and postpartum lactating women, infants, and families.
• Collaborate with the Women’s and Children’s health team and families to promote successful lactation and communicate patient needs to healthcare providers.
• Conduct daily lactation rounds across Maternity, NICU, Pediatrics, and other Elliot Hospital departments.
• Assess, plan, implement, document, and reevaluate individualized lactation care plans.
• Support families through follow-up calls, the Lactation Warm Line, outpatient services, and referrals.
• Maintain breastfeeding protocols and equipment, provide staff education, and share current breastfeeding research with families and healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current New Hampshire, compact, or multistate Registered Nurse licensure required.
• Certification through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners required.
• At least three years of clinical experience in an acute healthcare institution.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation and maintain it during employment.
