Equipment Service Technician (Outdoor Power Equipment)

Pay: Competitive pay plus up to $2,500 through performance bonuses

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair fractional-horsepower gasoline engines used in lawn mowers, garden tractors, and similar equipment.
• Locate faults, dismantle components, inspect defects, and clean, adjust, replace, or repair parts as authorized by customers.
• Assemble and service outdoor power equipment for professional landscape contractors.
• Communicate diagnoses, recommended actions, and repair status with Parts Customer Service Representatives and Sales Center Managers.
• Handle company tools and customer equipment carefully and follow OSHA safety and security procedures.

Requirements

• Completion of a mechanic technical or trade school, or at least one year of mechanic experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Willingness to obtain outdoor power equipment certifications and complete manufacturers' annual updates.
• Own basic tools for general engine or power equipment repair.
• Strong troubleshooting, investigative, critical-thinking, coordination, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-service environment and commit to overtime when necessary.
• Must be at least 18 years old to apply.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with two-cycle and four-cycle engines, light diesel, electrical systems, and hydraulic units.
• Equipment and Engine Training Certifications.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
