Maintenance Shop Lead Technician

What you will do

• Direct and mentor a group of maintenance technicians, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely repair work.
• Perform complex maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty truck chassis, refuse bodies, engines, brakes, suspension, drivetrain, steering, hydraulic, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Diagnose complex malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools and provide guidance on diagnostic techniques.
• Inspect third-party repair work for compliance with company safety procedures and federal and state regulations.
• Plan and schedule work to reduce lost productivity and maintain shop operations.
• Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication and assume Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities when needed.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to independently inspect and repair heavy truck or automotive systems, including suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Compliance with applicable safety standards and federal and state regulations.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience is preferred but not required.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications T1–T8 and a Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License are preferred but not required.
