Senior Project Manager - Utilities

What you will do

• Manage multi-utility infrastructure projects through construction, commissioning, and final handover.
• Lead utility delivery for data centres, logistics, industrial, advanced manufacturing, energy, and mixed-use developments.
• Act as the primary interface between clients, contractors, statutory utility providers, local authorities, and highway authorities.
• Drive programme performance, review critical paths, identify delivery risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead project governance, PMO reporting, executive dashboards, project controls, change control, and risk management across concurrent projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and support commercial oversight, commissioning, and close-out activities.

Requirements

• Extensive experience delivering utility infrastructure projects, particularly high- or extra-high-voltage electricity infrastructure.
• Experience managing contractors through construction and coordinating DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, transmission operators, utility providers, and design teams.
• Strong programme management, PMO, project controls, critical path analysis, risk, change control, cost, and schedule reporting experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing senior stakeholders, and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of utility interfaces, regulated environments, connections, diversions, reinforcement schemes, and commissioning.
• Strong commercial awareness and practical knowledge of utility delivery regulations and construction contracts.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4, JCT, or FIDIC contracts.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations, NRSWA, the Highways Act, utility permitting, DNO/IDNO processes, and streetworks coordination.
• Experience with National Grid delivery, commissioning, and energisation processes.
