Civil Engineer

Location: New Albany, Ohio, United States; field travel of approximately 10% is required, generally within a 5-hour driving distance of the assigned office.

Salary: $74,551–$109,543 per year

What you will do

• Perform intermediate-level civil engineering work and projects under an assigned manager.
• Design and analyze civil site, land development, stormwater, drainage, roadway, and erosion-control solutions.
• Support electric substation, transmission line, and telecommunications infrastructure projects.
• Travel to field sites to diagnose civil engineering issues involving transmission lines and substations.
• Assess and recommend solutions considering safety, performance, cost, constructability, risk, and liability.
• Coordinate work, provide guidance to lower-level employees, and prepare technical reports and analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and at least two years of related engineering experience.
• A master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may qualify candidates for entry at this level.
• Alternative pathway: a non-ABET bachelor’s degree plus a master’s degree or PhD from a university with an ABET-accredited bachelor’s program.
• Knowledge of site grading, stormwater management, drainage design and analysis, roadway design, erosion and sediment control, permitting, and surveying.
• Ability to solve moderately complex engineering problems, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide technical guidance.
• Monday–Friday schedule, 8 hours per day; some approved overtime may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Civil site engineering experience and leadership skills.
