R&D NGS Technician

Location: Louisville, KY, USA; onsite at 12701 Plantside Drive. Candidates must be within a commutable distance to Louisville.

Salary: $22.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Process human, plant, seed, animal, bacterial, fungal, and probiotic samples for developmental research.
• Perform DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, gel electrophoresis, TaqMan, KASP, and RT-PCR assays.
• Run and optimize wet-lab NGS and tGBS library preparation workflows and conduct basic data analysis.
• Receive, label, log, verify, store, and dispose of samples according to SOPs.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment, labware, supplies, and documentation.
• Communicate results, challenges, resource needs, and operational updates to the R&D Manager and internal teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in an industry laboratory.
• Familiarity with sequencing, library preparation, RT-PCR, and DNA/RNA extraction; sequencing experience is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately, maintain detailed records, and follow laboratory safety and quality standards.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
