Mechanical Engineering Technician I - Vertical Integration

What you will do

• Develop basic mechanical and manufacturing solutions under the supervision of an engineer or experienced technician.
• Assemble and deliver solutions, components, prototypes, and related assemblies.
• Document prototype construction, build and test results, and maintain engineering records.
• Prepare labor, materials, and schedule estimates for projects.
• Log time accurately and follow documented engineering and manufacturing procedures.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent training and relevant work experience.
• Technical competence in CAD modeling at CSWA level, dimensioning standards, drawing and schematic interpretation, geometry, trigonometry, college algebra, applied physics, and technical writing.
• Technical competence in at least two areas: mechanical design, stress analysis, thermal engineering, or automation.
• Typically, at least two years of technical or manufacturing support experience involving electronics manufacturing, product assembly, wiring, testing, pneumatics, motor control, automation, or hydraulics.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Confluence, JIRA, and project management or documentation tools.
• Basic programming experience with PLCs, Python, PolyScript, VBA, or similar technologies.
• Experience identifying and troubleshooting process and development problems and verifying product or process specifications.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn the scientific method.
