TL;DR
Sr. Operations Manager (Aerospace Manufacturing): Directing aerospace and defense manufacturing value streams with an accent on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and lean continuous improvement. Focus on leading kaizen events, optimizing cross-functional operations, building technically proficient teams, and improving standard work and performance.

Location: Auburn, California, United States; onsite at the Auburn facility.

Salary: $172,400–$208,500 per year, with potential eligibility for performance-based bonuses.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications, including complex flow-control products, lubrication pumps, and gerotor pumps.

What you will do

  • Plan and direct assigned value streams, owning performance and customer commitments for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Lead staff and coordinate with functional leaders to meet customer demand and optimize end-to-end value-stream performance.
  • Lead daily flash meetings and Gemba walks with the site leadership team.
  • Direct the manufacture of high-quality aerospace products at the lowest possible cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the Crane Business System, kaizen events, best-practice sharing, and a kaizen roadmap.
  • Hire, develop, coach, and motivate a technically proficient, customer-focused team while maintaining a safe workplace.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience focused on continuous process improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • 5+ years managing one or more value streams.
  • Advanced or expert knowledge of continuous-improvement systems and tools, with strong business acumen.
  • Experience managing cross-functional value streams involving manufacturing engineering, supply chain, facilities, and related functions.
  • Advanced or expert skills in employee development, team building, project management, and written and verbal communication.
  • BA or BS degree in engineering or a related field. Only US Persons will be considered where access to Controlled Data or Information is required under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • AS9100, AS9145, or TS16949 experience.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
