EHS Specialist

Location: Niagara Falls, NY, United States. This is an on-site facility-based role.

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually.

What you will do

• Oversee environmental, industrial health, and safety regulations for a single facility.
• Develop, plan, and implement EHS policies and procedures covering chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention, and building safety.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations and coordinate contact with government agencies.
• Manage contracts with licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal firms and monitor waste handling.
• Oversee compliance training, laboratory and plant inspections, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety programs.
• Monitor EHS program performance, serve as a potential emergency-services contact, and ensure corrective action for identified hazards.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety function.
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to multitask.
• Close attention to detail.
• Ability to work in conditions involving dust, heat, noise, and cold.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR requirements, including U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
