Location: Onsite at Ardent - UKH St. Francis in Topeka, Kansas; candidates must reside and be authorized to work within the United States. Schedule: day shift, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with rotation and alternate weekends.

Salary: $17.00–$18.15 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

  • Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
  • Assign accurate medical record numbers, process physician orders, collect insurance and demographic information, and provide patient instructions.
  • Complete insurance eligibility verification, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
  • Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute required Medicare, Tricare, observation, consent, and patient education forms.
  • Operate the hospital telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service.
  • Audit patient accounts, correct documentation issues, and provide statistical reporting to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
  • Ability to work onsite in Topeka, Kansas, including rotating schedules and alternate weekends.
  • Must reside and be authorized to work within the United States.
