Skilled Group Leader - Tool & Die Maintenance (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Long Beach, California; the selected candidate must reside within a commutable distance of the work location. Onsite second-shift position with flexibility required based on business needs. Applicants must already have the right to work in the United States and must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship.

Annual base salary: $103,800–$168,600.

What you will do

• Lead daily Tool & Die operations and support safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team development objectives.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Tool & Die team members while promoting safe work practices and technical excellence.
• Coordinate planned and unplanned stamping die maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, chroming, and refurbishment.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, review repair needs and timelines, prioritize work, and verify repair quality.
• Manage Maximo work orders, maintenance documentation, tooling schedules, inventory, and satellite stores.
• Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality.

Requirements

• Industrial maintenance or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and repairing high-volume stamping dies, including welding, spotting, and hand-finishing.
• Working knowledge of sheet metal stamping, cutting, and forming operations.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Technical expertise in Tool & Die, welding, machining, and maintenance documentation using Maximo or comparable CMMS/EAM systems.
• Existing U.S. work authorization is required; hirify.global does not provide employment-based visa or work authorization sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or Tool & Die.
• Automotive stamping experience and experience coaching skilled trades team members.
• Experience with hirify.global Business Practices, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or union-represented environments.
