Manager, Product Development (Interim) (Sporting Goods)

Salary: $132,000–$198,300 annual

What you will do

• Translate design concepts and briefs into finished products using customer, functionality, materials, and manufacturing knowledge.
• Work with product design and suppliers on working designs, tech packs, sampling, color submissions, and product execution.
• Review samples, product functionality, manufacturing efficiency, testing results, costing, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Maintain bills of materials, costing, and material libraries in Centric PLM, while coordinating schedules and Asana tasks.
• Manage supplier criteria for design, manufacturing, delivery, and quality in partnership with Engineering.
• Act as the technical liaison across Engineering, Product Design, Supply Chain, Program Management, Marketing, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in sporting goods or outdoor product manufacturing.
• At least 3 years of product and/or product development experience, preferably in accessories.
• At least 4 years working directly with manufacturing, suppliers, new products, related projects, or corrective-action investigations.
• Experience with cut-and-sew manufacturing at the factory level.
• Knowledge of travel and lifestyle category technologies, manufacturing principles, quality assurance methods, and sporting goods materials.
• Strong organizational, project management, communication, teamwork, and complex problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Centric PLM, and Asana.
