What you will do
- Lead multiple racing footwear projects from brief creation through final confirmation with Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 factories.
- Develop new uppers, tooling, technical blueprints, 3D CAD designs, patterns, materials, and construction solutions.
- Collaborate with elite athletes, Sports Marketing, Research, Design, Asia Development, PLM, Costing, and Color Design teams.
- Manage development samples, production approvals, testing, and compliance with World Athletics racing footwear rules.
- Identify technology gaps, lead innovation projects, and transfer technical learnings to other product teams.
- Partner with vendors and factories to improve manufacturing techniques, performance, quality, cost, and delivery timing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomechanics, Engineering, Kinesiology, Design, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading high-performance technical running footwear development projects, including track-and-field spikes or road racing shoes.
- Expertise in footwear construction, product development, process and project management, costing, manufacturing, and product testing.
- Knowledge of track and field, road racing, and World Athletics footwear competition rules.
- Experience developing plates and thermoplastic materials through injection and carbon fiber molding processes.
- Strong communication, collaboration, organization, problem-solving, computer, Adobe Illustrator, and MS Office skills; Flex PLM and 3D CAD knowledge is a bonus.
