Product Manufacturing Engineer (Golf Ball)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; onsite. Domestic and international travel is required up to three times per year for approximately two weeks.

Annual base pay: $88,000–$100,000, plus potential benefits, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, and paid time off.

What you will do

• Lead industrialization of new golf ball designs from prototypes through commercialization with manufacturing sites in Taiwan, South Korea, and other Asia-Pacific countries.
• Coordinate tooling, prototypes, first-article builds, evaluations, testing, and qualification milestones for product launches.
• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues while improving cost, quality, speed, yield, and defective rates.
• Support manufacturing execution using statistical process control data and charts to meet performance, conformance, quality, and cost targets.
• Generate test data reports, maintain controlled engineering documentation, and process engineering changes.
• Collaborate with Product Creation, Product Design, Sourcing, R&D, Operations, and supplier manufacturing teams on launches and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• M.S. in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline; alternatively, a B.S. with 3+ years of manufacturing or engineering experience.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Process Optimization, Six Sigma, manufacturing documentation, design control, engineering statistics, and test methods.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot production and equipment problems and implement engineering solutions.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills required.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
• Ability to work with substantial data and details, coordinate cross-functional projects, travel internationally, and perform required physical tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience with injection molding manufacturing and tooling.
• Knowledge of cosmetic finishing processes such as painting, ink stamping, and surface preparation.
• Experience with SPC software such as GainSeeker.
• Experience in the golf or sporting goods industry.
