Traveling 3D Scanning Technician (3D Scanning)

Location: Must be located in Chicago or the Midwest region of the U.S.; extensive travel across the U.S. is required. U.S. work authorization is required.

Salary: $60,000–$70,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses.

What you will do

• Perform 360° photography, Matterport and NavVis LiDAR scanning, still photography, and drone imagery for built environments.
• Execute accurate and efficient reality capture across U.S. project sites.
• Produce consistent, high-quality visual documentation with proper lighting, framing, and focus.
• Manage field operations, travel schedules, logistics, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to improving reality capture standards.

Requirements

• Experience with Matterport and LiDAR, including NavVis scanning technologies.
• Experience with still photography and drone photography.
• FAA Part 107 certification for commercial drone operation, or the ability to obtain it quickly.
• Strong technical proficiency with photography equipment, drones, and related software.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel extensively by car for multiple weeks at a time.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality work.

Nice to have

• Experience in architecture, engineering, and construction or knowledge of building systems.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and photogrammetry tools.
• Client-facing or customer service experience and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
